Terra Rossa website

"Before you can even look at a plate of pasta, Terra Rossa's website demands you negotiate a hostage situation with their Cookiebot banner. It takes up almost the entire screen on mobile and obliterates the hero section on desktop. It's the digital equivalent of a bouncer demanding your passport before letting you read the menu in the window. Once you finally click 'Allow', you are greeted by an avant-garde art exhibition of empty grey rectangles. It looks like the web developer quit halfway through uploading the media library. The sections for 'Tradizione', 'Flavour', and 'Love for the seafood' are apparently best represented by the endless, empty void. Nothing says 'authentic Italian cuisine' quite like a missing image icon. If you actually want to know what they serve, you're out of luck. There is a section literally titled 'Discover our menus' that contains paragraphs of SEO-stuffed text but absolutely no menu, nor a button to find one. You are instead forced to click away to completely different websites for their individual locations just to see if they serve carbonara. The copy reads like it was written by a robot trying to hit a quota for the phrase 'Italian restaurant in London', resulting in a disjointed, unfinished landing page that leaves a bad taste in your mouth before you've even booked a table."

Spaghetti House website

Spaghetti House

"The Spaghetti House website greets you less like a welcoming Italian trattoria and more like a desperate street hawker. Before you can even catch a glimpse of the pasta, you're hit with a monolithic cookie banner—which on mobile consumes the entire screen—and on desktop, a secondary 'Bottomless Prosecco' pop-up stacked right on top of it. It’s a chaotic, user-hostile first impression that actively punishes you for daring to visit the site. Once you clear the bureaucratic hurdle of the pop-ups, you're rewarded with... practically nothing. Both the desktop and mobile experiences are plagued by monumental, unbroken voids of empty beige and bright red space. It looks less like a deliberate minimalist choice and more like half the website's code simply gave up and died. Scrolling through these barren, content-less wastelands on mobile is a thumb workout nobody asked for. To make matters worse, basic restaurant functionality is completely AWOL. Need an address? A phone number? Opening hours? A quick glance at some menu highlights? Good luck. You'll have to hike all the way down to the footer to find basic links—and even there, the 'Follow Us' social section is just a sad, empty circle. If you want to fill seats, start by fixing the layout, ditching the aggressive modals, and actually putting your essential information where hungry people can see it."
